How do the consultations work?

All initial consultations last around 75 minutes. Whether this takes place at your home or online, I would suggest being in a quiet space free from distraction. I will ask you detailed questions about your main areas of concern, and also ask you about all the other systems in your body to get a clear picture of your overall health. You can provide as much detail as you feel comfortable with and won't feel pressured into answering anything you don't want to. I will then provide you with a comprehensive plan that includes dietary and lifestyle recommendations within 48 hours. You will have the opportunity for clarifying any details or ask questions over a 15 minute phone call or email. You will need to book your 30 minute follow up appointment approximately 8 weeks later so we can assess the progress you've made, any challenges you faced and where there's room for improvement.Any additional sessions can be booked in if you feel like you need more guidance or counsel in your wellness journey.

Are appointments online or face to face?

Both options are available depending on location, preference and ease. If you live in London and depending on your location, I offer the option of home visits at no extra cost.

Question 3

How many appointments do I need to see a difference?

That would depend entirely on you! For some people who would mainly want a steer in the right direction when it comes to their diet and lifestyle, 1-2 sessions might be sufficient. For someone who has a more chronic health issue (e.g. type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular issues) or wants to lose a significant amount of weight, this would require 2+ sessions and regular check ins over a longer period of time. All of this will be discussed during the discovery call and we can talk about what would best suit you.

Question 4

Do I need to inform my GP that I'm doing this?

If you're booking a consultation for advice on simply how to improve your diet and lifestyle, then it's entirely up to you as to whether you inform your GP. If you are on medication for any health issue, then I strongly suggest you keep your GP informed. For example, if through making positive changes to your diet your cholesterol levels decrease, then the dosage of medication you're on to control that (most commonly these would be statins) might need to be adjusted accordingly. I'm happy to write letters for you to pass onto your GP detailing what our protocol is and whether closer monitoring of medication dosage is required.

Question 5

I'm on several medications - can I still make an appointment?

Post-discovery call, I'll ask you to send me a comprehensive list of your medications, why you take them and how long you've been taking them for. I will liaise closely with your GP to ensure that no recommendations I provide would clash with medical directives.
